Director's Note
I believe this performance was meant to be, despite the fact that I never saw it coming. I didn’t see it, in fact, until I started writing it in October. Needless to say, it’s been a whirlwind to bring it to you. I felt like I was in a fog, not sure if I could finish the script, not sure if the world would lock down before opening night. Uncertainties met our team at every turn. What did we do? We kept going. Sort of like 2020. None of us saw it coming and we’ve all been caught in the whirlwind...and we can’t see through the fog to know how it will all end...but we keep going. And we are here today! Together. For that I am so very grateful to God and to all these amazing, dedicated friends I am blessed to work with. Tonight, we’ll celebrate the resilience of some great Americans who’ve gone before us. Most of all we celebrate Christmas: our hope in the most difficult times. I believe you'll be inspired by those portrayed this evening...and the legacy they’ve left behind for all of us to inherit. Warmly, Beth Kenniv Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses... let us run with perseverance the race marked out before us…” |
