PREPARED SONG
- You will sing a memorized, Broadway-style (not contemporary pop) song that is 1 to 2 minutes maximum in length.
- Don't choose a song just because you like it-- choose one that fits and shows off YOUR VOICE. We suggest a song from the Golden Era of Broadway: Rogers and Hammerstein or something in the style from the 1940's-1960's.
- Please bring a device with your accompaniment track up and ready to go. Usually your phone speaker will amplify enough sound to do the trick. If you choose to bring a bluetooth speaker, plan to have your phone connected to it when you walk in for your audition.
PREPARED MONOLOGUE
- You will also present a memorized monologue.
- Click on the link below and please read the instructions at the top of the page.
IMPROMPTU SESSION
- No prep necessary for this portion.
- We will be cold reading short scenes from the script together. Scripts will be provided.
- We will also teach a short vocal passage from the score.
DANCE
- Our main dance audition will be on Thursday, May 9. If you are an out-of-town college student submitting a video audition, and can't get back for the Thursday dance session, please email us at admin@inspiringartsproductions.com. We may want to see you dance at callbacks on May 11.
- At the dance audition, you will learn a short dance with our choreographers, and have a chance to show us what you can do! We are looking for confidence and poise, as well as dance ability.
- Please wear clothes and shoes you can dance in.
