Sailors and Pirates and Mermaids, oh my!
​Pirates and mermaids rule the high seas, and adventure abounds above and below the waves!
Come and join us for a week of musical theater visiting some of our favorite pirate songs and mermaid melodies. 
We'll sing sailor shanties, ballads from Broadway mermaids, and some Penzance pizzazz.
This camp will culminate in a 20-30 minute mini-musical performance on Friday!

Are you ready to set sail???

Hello Campers and Parents! We are so very excited to meet you--it's going to be an amazing week!! But before we get started, we'd like to give you some details about the way the week will go. Make sure you read through everything so you know what to bring for the first day. Also, keep checking back to this page-- we'll be updating it with other resources and announcements throughout the week, and of course, you'll need to practice your songs (Hint! Hint! PLEASE DO!). ​What to wear: Casual, comfortable, modest clothing (please no camis, short shorts/short skirts, or leggings)

Be creative and fun each day:
Monday: Getting-to-Know-You Day  Wear your favorite COLOR or something that represents you
Tuesday: Team Spirit Day  Wear your favorite SPORTS team clothing or a t-shirt from a team you were on
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday!  Wear CRAZY mismatched clothing (please no accessories that will be difficult to move around with)… a contest and prizes for the wackiest!
Thursday: Broadway Day  Wear a t-shirt from a show you’ve been in or have seen
Friday: Performance Day!!  Wear your costume! (**DETAILS BELOW**)

​What to Bring
  1. A labeled WATER Bottle each day​
  2. A container (laundry basket, bin, or box) to keep props/costumes, water bottle, etc. This can be left at the church for the duration of the week.
  3. Your script printed with your name on it (scroll down to find this)​
  4. A positive attitude that's ready to try new things and make new friends!
COSTUME INFORMATION:
  • A solid-colored t-shirt (a nice bright color would be best! If you have a few options, bring them all!)
  • Black/kaki shorts/pants. Girls can also do a black skirt, but if it is above your knee, you will also need black leggings (capri or full length). Please no leggings without a skirt over top.
  • Fun tall socks. Please no super obvious brand characters (e.g. marvel, disney, etc.)-- we're looking for bright colors and fun patterns (Stripes are super fun!), preferably knee-high in length. 
  • Any other Pirate/Sailor accessories you have! We're especially looking for pirate hats, vests, and headscarfs. Props are also welcome, as long as they aren't breakable or valuable. 
Now, a couple IMPORTANT guidelines:
  • IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING, please let us know as soon as possible, and we can help you borrow it from us or from somebody else-- no need to run out and buy something new. 
  • On that note, if you have any extra pieces and are willing to share, please label them with your name and place in your own basket. 
  • Finally, start bringing in your pieces and place them in your basket AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!! 


Performance Preparation: Listed below are links to the songs and lyrics that we will be performing. Spend some time getting familiar with both so that we can hit the ground running! There are a lot of lyrics, rhythms, notes and choreography to learn in a short amount of time. Please use these links throughout the week of camp to practice at home, as well.

MUSIC TRACKS
Due to how many awesome campers we have in this camp, we decided to throw in one more song! The script will be updated soon, but for the moment, take a listen!
We will be performing several songs that you may not be super familiar with, so below are a couple videos from various performances. In particular, several songs are from a musical called the Pirates of Penzance. It's a SUPER funny musical about a group of incompetent pirates, and we think you'll really love the songs :) 
In this song, the pirates are attempting to sneak into the house without being caught. As you will see, they are REALLY good at staying quiet...
A REALLY cool version of this song. Full disclosure, WE will not have people swinging from ropes and nets. But this is still pretty fun to watch. :)
