If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]
1. Prepare and film your audition song and monologue (see directions below).
2. Upload the files to Vimeo, YouTube (unlisted), or drop into a Dropbox or Google folder with open access. 3. Fill out the audition form linked below. You'll need the link to your videos to include in the form. Please make sure to fill out the form completely, and be specific about conflicts-- we prefer an explanation and details for partial conflicts. It will help us out if you fill out the form indicating intent to audition ASAP, and then edit your form to add your audition video links later. 4. Then, just... wait! You will receive an email if we would like to see you for any of the in-person callback sessions. Dance/Ensemble invitations will include a sign up link, and actors will only be called to one time slot over the two days.
Audition Song & Monologue VideosSONG:
Choose a Musical Theater song that showcases your range & acting abilities. Ideal song length is between 2-3 minutes. Your vocal audition voice but also your acting-- take chances and show us some drama! Sing with an accompaniment of your choosing. Please make sure that your voice can be easily heard over the accompaniment. MONOLOGUE: Prepare a monologue(s) from the sheet linked below. Memorization is optional (using the text is fine as long as it doesn't look like a cold read). Yes, you are welcome to peform more than one. If you do, we encourage you to try both accents. There is no one from Ohio in this show...we need to hear you try the accents! Build your confidence and polish your monologue and dialects by attending our Academy audition prep classes!
Dance - in person If you receive an email to come to the dance call, our choreographers will teach you a combination (of Irish, Waltz and Musical Theater styles) to perform in small groups for our audition team. No specific prep is necessary. Actors only need to sign up for one session over the two days of dance, and sign up information will be included with the callback invitation.
Not familiar with Irish dance? Attend an audition prep dance class to get familiar with basic steps and combinations! Callbacks
Role callbacks on May 9 will be workshop style to give a deeper understanding of the story and the characters. You may be asked to read for something you did not audition for. Final callbacks on May 15 are at the discretion of the production staff and may not be needed for all roles.
